About
Our Mission & Vision
The Religious Coalition to Assist the Homeless (RCAH) unites Austin congregations, social service agencies, and caring individuals to expand shelter and housing options for our unhoused neighbors.
Since 1997, we’ve provided grant funding to local nonprofits that deliver critical services—including emergency shelter, transitional and permanent housing, case management, and hospice care. Together, we serve veterans, families, immigrants, the medically vulnerable, and others facing homelessness with dignity and compassion. Our vision is a more just and compassionate Austin—where every person has access to safe housing and the community support they need to thrive.

The RCAH Board of Directors meets quarterly to oversee operations, evaluate grant proposals, and make funding decisions. We work with ECHO, local congregations, the City of Austin, Travis County, and service agencies to help shape funding priorities. Each member congregation may appoint a representative to the Board. For more information, please email our Executive Director.
