Board of Directors
The Religious Coalition to Assist the Homeless’ Board of Directors meets four times a year to oversee the operations of the Coalition, evaluate agencies’ service roles, review grant proposals and make funding decisions.
The Coalition works with the End Community Homelessness Committee (ECHO), the Downtown Cluster of Congregations and Social Service Agencies, the City of Austin, Travis County and social service agencies to define funding priorities.
Participating congregations may appoint one member to the Board of Directors. For more information on Board membership, please contact the executive director.
2023 Board of Directors
The City of Austin is reopening a downtown homeless shelter on Thursday, just in time to get 65 homeless women and transgender clients off the streets by Christmas.
The 8th Street Shelter was formerly the Salvation Army Homeless Shelter at 501 East 8th Street. The reopening is another step toward filling the need for 1,000 shelter beds in Austin by 2025.
